We support PEN`s “Writers in prison” program
Back to overviewWhere they have burned books, they will end in burning human beings”. Our company has not forgotten the connection made by the 19th-century German author Heinrich Heine. And in an increasingly polarised world, standing up for writers and truth is more vital than ever. We are therefore very pleased that our CEO Dr. Jens Körner was able to hand over a symbolic donation cheque personally to Ralf Nestmeyer, Vice President of PEN Centre Germany and Writers in Prison Committee Officer.
WiPC was set up in 1960 as a result of mounting concern about attempts to silence critical voices around the world through the detention of writers. It works on behalf of all those who are detained or otherwise persecuted for their opinions expressed in writing and for writers who are under attack for their peaceful political activities or for the practice of their profession.
