LONDON, 17 October 2007: ad pepper media UK, the online advertising network, has appointed James Spinks to the role of Business Development Director, as part of a move to double its Business Development team. Spinks joins ad pepper media from uSwitch.com, where, as Business Development Manager, he secured hundreds of content partnership deals with major online publishers, including ITV, Orange and Virgin.

In his new role, reporting to ad pepper media’s Managing Director, Spinks will be responsible for growing and developing ad pepper media’s publisher network, which currently includes over 1 million websites worldwide, with a reach of over 4 billion monthly impressions.

Spinks holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand, and a Diploma in e-Marketing from the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) of New Zealand.

Spinks’s appointment comes shortly after ad pepper media hired Izzet Agoren as Business Development Manager.  Reporting to Spinks, Agoren is charged with cultivating partner relationships and identifying new business opportunities, up-selling partners on new products and services, and tracking key metrics.

Agoren holds a BSc and an MSc in Electrical Engineering, as well as a Motorola Engineering Masters Scholarship. Prior to joining ad pepper media, he was a lecturer in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Near East University, Lefkosa, Cyprus. Prior to that he founded AyzaNet, trading as Extend Broadband, the Cyprus-based wireless broadband Internet Service Provider, of which he remains a Non-executive Director.

Commenting on the appointments, Sacha Carton, Board Director said: “We are delighted to have attracted two people of the caliber of James and Izzet. James has a proven track record in developing online publisher networks, while Izzet’s immense technical knowledge will be invaluable as we look to maintain the rapid growth in our semantic iSense™ Network.”

ad pepper media’s move to strengthen its business development team follows the successful launch in September of the company’s iSense™ technology suite. Developed by world-renowned linguistic expert Prof. David Crystal OBE, iSense uses a proprietary, patented targeting technology called SenseEngine™ to deliver advertisements that are contextually relevant to the web pages on which they are served.

iSense goes beyond mathematical algorithms, analyzing each word on the page to present truly contextual advertising. iSense is available as a suite of advertising products, and offers advertisers a choice of 25 high-level and 250 median-level categories by which to target their advertising.

Advertisers wishing to drill down further can segment by reference to 2,500 specific subject areas. iSense SiteScreen technology ensures that advertising is not placed alongside controversial content.
